TOURISM EXPERIENCES
Our research follows the principles of tourism development based on inclusive and equitable approaches.
Technologies developed and tested in the lab are assessed in terms of the impacts on the experiences of local and remote participants, across the spatially and temporally extended stages of the visitor experience.
Participatory approaches are developed to assess all stages of the visitor experience, across different visitor ‘types’ (virtual, latent and actual) in relation to:
1. Technology experiences (‘being there’)
2. Intra/inter-personal experiences (co-presence)
3. Visitor engagement with natural/cultural heritage and
4. Transformative experiences.
