MĀORI EXPERIENCE
Tourism and Māori tourism has been significantly impacted by Covid 19.
As a result, many Māori businesses, iwi and hapū have had to reshape many of their priorities in terms of its cultural wealth, authenticity, and environmental and economic sustainability.
To explore the economic, health, environmental, social, and cultural potential of immersive and collaborative AR/VR technologies for multiple stakeholders, mātauranga experts, iwi and hapū, we utilise a Kaupapa Māori model using a thought space wānanga approach to engage with these Māori groups and communities.
Our research team already have developed long-term relationships with knowledge holders, community leaders, hapū and iwi and these relationships that have been forged over years that now enables high-quality co-design, discussion and mātauranga collection to investigate how these priorities have been shaped and informed from a te ao Māori perspective.
